My Everest!

Those of you who know me know that I am about the pickiest eater in the world. I only know 2 people pickier than me. Those people are Darren and Tray. I thought I was picky until I married Darren and realized that I had my work cut out for me since he is even worse than me. As a result we ended up with Tray who I swear has a sixth sense when it comes to things he "doesn't like" to eat. Mainly meat and vegetables. I don't mind him not eating meat, cause we really don't eat too much of it anyways, only once in a while. But he spits out his Veggies too. Even as a tiny guy he refused the baby food veggies, shocker right? ha ha those things are Nasty! Now, if he "senses" any veggies mixed in his food he will spit his whole mouthful out. What a stinker huh?? Well after some helpful tips and advice from sister in laws I have made the decision to really try to get my little family eating healthier. We LOVE fruit so thats not a problem, we could eat fruit all day long, but vegetables are another story.. Let me just tell you.. it is ROUGH! ha ha I HATE cooked vegetables. Always have. I'll eat some raw but even then it's a select few. So this is QUITE the feat! But I am very please to announce that we are making some headway. We have had vegetables in some form or another everyday this last week. I have steamed veggies a few times with meals and had a pretty good turn out. Darren actually loved them, I GAGGED them down (without pinching my nose too! I must be growing up!) I cut them up very small and hid them in Trays food as well, which he gobbled up. I feel like super mom! I've been spending more money on veggies and less on other snacks and have been chopping up celery, olives, carrots, and even green peppers (yep, thats right mom! I ate a green pepper today!) to munch on along with various fresh fruits. Last night at dinner Darren got Tray to willingly eat a piece of steamed broccoli by itself, not hidden in anything. He didn't even spit it out. We were so excited and shared a very enthusiastic high five across the table lol He refused to eat another piece but hey, I am just so excited we got one in him. There is hope! I am hoping in time I will aquire a taste for them but until then I will be choking them down. Ha ha anyways, I am just so excited about it! I had to share my triumph with everyone :)  So if anyone has any special ways they like to prepare some "yummy" veggies that I can try with my family I am WIDE open for suggestions! Thanks!

Sleeping The Days Away

Hey everyone! We are still alive.. for the most part anyways! Life has been kind of crazy lately getting settled into our new routine. Some of you know that Darren was offered a job at Gossners, which is the place we were hoping for him to get a job in the first place way back in December, go figure. He started almost 2 weeks ago and has been training so far. We are very grateful for the job and have had an interesting time adjusting to the differant life style. Darren works from Midnight to 8 am. Rough huh?! He is amazing... I don't know how he does it! Then he comes home in time to eat breakfast with us and goes to bed from 9 am to 5 pm. It has been interesting for sure. Tray doesn't quite understand why Papa is locked in the room all day long. He likes to call up the stairs for him or goes and knocks on our bedroom door yelling for his dad to let him in lol. For the most part it has been working really well tho. Its weird sleeping alone again after sleeping next to someone for a couple years. My feet get REALLY cold these days without my human furnace next to me. Tray and I have had to come up with some new things to do while Papa is sleeping so we don't wake him up. We have been building forts, coloring, playing dress up, dancing, playing kitchen.. Tray is at a really fun age where he loves to pretend. He loves to "cook" and even "tastes" his food to see if it's done lol He is learning to talk a lot and loves to be heard. Especially when it comes to food it seems.. These Anderson boys love their food. Tray's current favorite words are apple, Nana (banana) cheese, drink, food, more, popsicle,Yum-yum... I swear he is hungry all the time lol Today we will be making some peanut butter play dough and seeing how he likes that. It should be fun!

Another fun update for us that we are SO excited about.. Tray is now going to nursury!! Hooray!! Its fantastic and he LOVES it. He's just coming up on 17 months so he's not technically old enough but he does great in there and they love having him. This will be his third week in there and oh we just love it. Grown ups sure get excited about lame things huh? lol

Anyways, we're not too exciting but I thought I'd post a little update. Until next time!

What Is The True Cost?

My dearest darling AMAZING husband has decided to create his own blog, for which I was slightly surprised but very proud of him. I invite any and all of you to check it out and post your comments. He has chosen to center his blog on our WONDERFUL COUNTRY that seems to be slowly falling apart; in hopes to get even a few people together discussing the challenges America is facing today.

Maybe if enough of us are aware of what is going on and unite, with Heavenly Fathers help and guidence, something can be done to preserve our BLESSED NATION. The key is to UNITE. God bless you all!

Check it out!

Its In The Air!!

SPRING!! It's in the air!

Today in Logan the temperature outside reached a BLAZING 38 degrees! Yahoo! One miniature man was particularly happy about getting outside. We spent most of the afternoon out in our back yard playing in the GRASS! Yep, grass. Not snow. Yay!  I love warm weather. And though I was FREEZING while playing outside today, there was no snow on the grass and the sun was shining, so it was worth it. I can't wait for summer!

Everything is going great here in Logan. We are finally here full time and LOVING it. Darren has been working a temporary job, but will be starting his new job Monday. We are very excited about it and very grateful to our Heavenly Father. It was the job we were hoping for in the first place. Its perfect. Its the hours and the pay we need. We are very blessed.

Tray loves his ball. Any ball really. He used to yell "BALL" all the time, but thanks to Uncle Quinny who taught him the word "football" he yells "FOOTBALL" now.

Tray thought the clouds in the sky were REALLY cool.

What a stud huh?! We found Trays new "cool dudes" (sunglasses) at Old Navy. He LOVES them.

This is what Tray looked like once I finally made him come in the house. To say the least he was upset. Oblivious to his running nose and frozen fingers/ears/nose/cheeks. The kid loves being outside. Summer can't come soon enough!

Readmittance

Well everyone, I received my Readmittance letter for Utah State University in the mail a few weeks ago.. I'm going back to school! Yay! I wasn't really worried I wouldn't be accepted back in, I left in good standing, but having it makes it seem more real. I'm very excited about going back to school. My darling sister, Sarah, will be home from her mission soon and she will be attending USU as well, and is more than happy to help with little Tray when I need her to. I'll take whatever classes I can online so I can spend as much time home with Tray as possible. My goal is to only be away from him a couple hours a week while he plays with Auntie Sarah. I am also changing my major from Family and human development, to Animal science with and emphasis on Equine science and management. I am soo stinkin excited about it! I have ALWAYS wanted to work with horses. It's the one thing that I can think of that I have always wanted to do. And best of all, it is a profession that I can pursue from home that will enrich our family. Darren is so supportive about it and is just as excited as I am. (Aren't husbands the best?) It's going to be tough, but it's going to be great!

Wish us Luck! :)

Like Father Like Son

Tray loves helping his Daddy work on ANYTHING. Darren is my Handy Man and fixes anything and everything that I need fixed. My adorable little mini handy man loves to be right along side of him. This usually makes any task take a million times longer but how can you resist such a cute moment? :)
I love these boys!

Darrens task for the day = Put together the entertainment center.
Trays task for the day = Show daddy how :)
